Vail Pass

Last Sunday itwas a friend's birthday and to celebrate a group of us decided to ride Vail Pass.. We set off from Edwards - it was about a 30 mile ride - but the middle section would be where next week's time trial is to take place - so it was good to see the course and how big the climb is.   Super windy on the ride though - strong headwind on the way up - and my friends warned me it would be the same on the way down !  No way - couldnt possibly be - but guess what? Somehow they were right and there was indeed a strong headwind on the descent also!!  Pretty tiring ride overall - I didn't realise how tiring till after the shower when I got home - I was exhausted!!  But it was fun - really great to ride with a group again!!  And yes - the birthday party afterwards was great fun also!!
