Cabs and Campfires

Morning of Day 5:              After an interesting night's sleep in the beat up old truck I got up and was just freezing.  I had set my alarm to wake me after 2 hours but that never happened.  I was so cold and really couldn't move much inside the cab - it was so small.  There were two seats with a huge gap between them and a gear lever in the middle which I managed to lay across all night.  No idea how.  I guess when you're that tired you can sleep anywhere!!I then rode for a while this morning - unfortunately my ankle is killing.  My ankle always hurts on these rides and its normally my achilles and usually hurts for a couple of days - I ignore it and the pain goes away.  This time its different - feels as though I may have twisted it - maybe hiking through the snow or maybe it is my achilles which has caused the whole ankle to swell.  I remember it being really swollen when I rode Land's End to John o Groats - but I could ignore that knowing I was nearly finished.   So I dont really know what to do - keep struggling on I guess.  Rode with another guy for a while.  Then stopped to eat my cold cheese sandwich.  then I decided I would find a good spot to stop and build a little fire, warm up my sandwich for breakfast.  So that's what I am doing right now.   Then I plan to try to repack my bag - get rid of some stuff I don't need.  Then there's a pretty good hill coming up this afternoon so I'd better get on with that!!     BYE!
