Day 43 - Two Surprises!

We started in New Beaver, PA. From the offset it was very hilly (again). I didn’t manage to get a good breakfast in so had to stop after around 20 miles in New Midia to refuel – we had a very good lunch with a really nice waitress.

It was hilly after lunch which really sucked as I thought we were done with all the hills – the roads were pretty crap to which didn’t help matters. There was a massive downhill section where I managed to pick up a LOT of speed which was pretty scary as the road was scattered with holes.

50 miles in there was a massive climb and the road was being tarred – the fresh tar got all over my tyres which made it practically like cycling with super-glue on my tires which absolutely killed me – my legs were pretty much dead as it was!

As the day went on the roads eventually turned into more like English-country roads. I nearly fell off my bike around 10 times!

I was keeping an eye out for my brother and sister on the side of the road as I knew they were arriving today but they never turned up. We finally finished the day at a police station in Moorestown and a nice policeman signed the witness book (without anyone getting arrested).

My brother and sister finally turned up when we were eating dinner – with two surprises – official YesHesMad cycling tops and one Helen Tracey (a close family friend) – I had no idea she was coming.
